Platies for Sale
Platies (Xiphophorus maculatus) are peaceful, colorful livebearers and among the easiest freshwater fish to keep, making them a go-to recommendation for beginners and community tank builders. On Light Fish you'll find platies listed by hobbyists and breeders in dozens of color varieties — sunset, mickey mouse, red wag, blue mirror, hi-fin, and many more. They are hardy, adaptable, and compatible with a wide range of tankmates.
All platy orders on Light Fish are backed by a platform-wide Live Arrival Guarantee. Fish are packed in breather bags with temperature-appropriate packs, shipped in insulated boxes via priority or overnight carrier, and weather-monitored in transit. Platies prefer temperatures of 70–80°F and a pH of 7.0–8.0. Like other livebearers, they reproduce readily — keeping a female-to-male ratio of at least 2:1 reduces stress on females and helps manage breeding rates.
