Pearl Weed - Hemianthus Micranthemoides

Pearl Weed (aka Pearl Grass) is a green foreground plant that is elegant and very unique. Native to Central and North America, this plant does best with stable water parameters, and benefits from injected CO2, although not required. When combined with the right lighting and fertilizers, this plant will quickly spread and cover the entire front of your aquarium. Pearl Weed carpets can be particularly beautiful when trimmed regularly. When CO2 and high light are provided, I have found that it tends to spread laterally, carpeting thickly and quickly. When planted in low light without CO2, this plant tends to grow upwards and stretch towards the light, requiring more frequent trimming.
