Description

Mosquitofish (Gambusia holbrooki) are used for mosquito control, in pond ecosystems, and as feeders for larger fish and other aquatic pets. They are a key component of pond ecosystems. These fish generally do not make good tank mates with other kinds fish, but do well in ponds, water troughs, rain barrels, and the like. They are tolerant of varying dissolved oxygen and temperature and pH fluctuations and make ideal fish for standing water bodies in which you want to control mosquitoes.
