Rainbow Cichlid; Scientific name Herotilapia multispinosa. A beautiful cichlid from Central America. This is a very colorful fish, and it can change its appearance almost instantly from very pale light golden yellow to a vivid bright deep golden yellow with a black stripe down the sides, depending on its mood. The breeding colors are simply stunning. This fish is a great addition to many different tanks. Its is not very aggressive for a cichlid so it can be put with a semi aggressive community tank. But it can handle itself with an aggressive biotope tank as well. A pair in species only tank will breed. It does not get very big like some cichlids do. In fact, these fish will not get much bigger than they are now. All orders that arrive before Sunday, I will ship on Monday or Tuesday. I traditionally include a plant or two in with the fish. This seems to make the fish more relaxed and less stressed. These are free and are healthy aquatic plants that you can grow in your tanks if you want, however be advised that I do have snails in most of my tanks.
