African Cichlids for Sale
African cichlids are among the most colorful and behaviorally interesting freshwater fish available in the hobby. On Light Fish you'll find cichlids from Lake Malawi, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Victoria listed by breeders and hobbyists across the United States — including peacocks, haplochromines, mbuna, frontosa, and shell dwellers. Many are captive-bred, making them hardier and more disease-resistant than wild-caught specimens.
All African cichlid orders on Light Fish are backed by a platform-wide Live Arrival Guarantee. Fish are packed in breather bags with heat or cold packs as needed, shipped in styrofoam-lined insulated boxes via priority or overnight carrier, and weather-monitored along the route. African cichlids thrive in hard, alkaline water — Rift Lake species do best at a pH of 7.8–8.5 and 76–82°F. Research compatibility carefully before stocking, as many species are territorial.
