Fish are packed in breather bags with heat or cold packs as needed, shipped in insulated boxes via priority or overnight carrier, and weather-monitored along the route. Barbs are best kept in schools of six or more to minimize fin-nipping behavior. They thrive in well-maintained tanks of 20 gallons or more with a pH of 6.5–7.5 and moderate water flow.
