Black Swordtail young Adult breeding combo with 1 Male, fertile and 3 Females, all fertile as well. Healthy, vibrant colors, good eaters, get along great with plants and between them. Great option for a nature tank to have young and parents in the same tank. If your tank is small, 10-20 gallons, you can remove the dry and raise separately for a few weeks until bigger in size and then add to the tank to prevent other fish from eating them, or if a live food source for the fry is still not abundant enough to sustain them. You may also add purchased live food sources regularly to avoid depletion in your tank if a very small quantity exists. The fry can be raised on a separate very small tank and fed with quality dry food, crushed and sprinkled on the water surface. Feeding 5 times a day in tiny quantities is best, but requires daily water changes. The water must be kept clean from old food, water change daily and replace water with water from the established parent tank. Fry are very lively, curious, and grow fast, They show their sex well after 3-5 months in my experience. The parents leave them alone as long as they have enough food, if there is enough hiding places between rocks, under wood and plants. NOTE: if you have a pleco they have been known to eat the fry sometimes in the night time.
