Featuring the round balloon-like body shape from their parents, these fish grow very slow and have a life expectancy of over ten years. All of our fry, juveniles, and adults are aquarium-raised and home-bred. Our Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlids are double hybrids crossed between a Blue Polar Parrot Cichlid and a Dwarf Platinum Balloon/Jellybean Cichlid. Size: They can grow up to 8” as adults in aquariums. Behavior: Usually not aggressive toward their own species; semi-aggressive toward others but they can be very territorial in some instances. They are carnivores. Cichlids require lots of hiding places. Make sure you have ample rocks, caves, and plants to deter aggressive behavior. Compatibility: They do best in a species-only tank but are compatible with similar cichlids that aren’t too aggressive. Food: Blue Polar Platinum Parrot Cichlids will eat cichlid wafers and pellets, cichlid flakes, live/frozen brine shrimp, and blood worms. Increase pellet size as the fish grow, eventually moving to regular sized pellets.
