Live Rock for Sale

Live rock is the foundation of the biological filtration system in most reef and saltwater fish-only aquariums. On Light Fish you'll find live rock listed by reef hobbyists and aquaculture operators, ranging from base rock seeded with bacteria and coralline algae to fully cured pieces covered in microfauna, sponges, and encrusting organisms. Aquacultured live rock — grown in the ocean or in large saltwater systems — is a sustainable alternative to wild-collected reef rock.

All live rock orders on Light Fish are backed by a platform-wide Live Arrival Guarantee and shipped via priority or overnight carrier in insulated, moisture-retaining packaging to keep the rock's biological community alive in transit. When adding live rock to an established aquarium, cure any new pieces first to avoid introducing a large die-off that spikes ammonia. Fully cured or aquacultured rock can often be added directly to an established tank with minimal impact.
