Rainbow Kribs require a standard tropical water setup. Recommended ph is between 7-8 and temp between 76-79 degrees F. I have raised mine at 78 degrees with a ph of 7.6, so they are more likely to do well in similar waters. However, as they are still not fully grown they are likely to be able to adapt to a bit different parameters if yours are different! They are a relatively peaceful species, doing well in community tanks. Their temperament is moderate however, as they get very territorial and aggressive when breeding and raising their young. If you provide an area of the tank dedicated to them, they will likely chase other tank mates away when breeding, but shouldn't interfere with other areas of the tank. Watching these fish parent their young is an incredible experience! Males grow to be about 3-4 inches when full-grown and require a minimum tank size of 20 gallons for a pair. They take all kinds of food, pellets, flakes, frozen, and live and have been raised on all of the above! All have been home-bred and raised!
